IEEE Spectrum

IEEE Spectrum was a development consulting project for Media Hive, a Brooklyn-based interactive agency. The assignment was to revamp an existing news magazine site called for the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

The bulk of the work involved front-end changes and bug-fixing tasks with HTML5 and CSS3 but also utilized a significant amount of JavaScript and jQuery.

Less.js was used for the compilation of the stylesheets using variables and mixins to more efficiently create various elements such as buttons and gradients for the color-coded user interface.

IEEE Spectrum was also built to be responsive for phone and tablet screens.
